Although the Tibetan people have been oppressed, humiliated and expelled from their home, they have retained a strong faithful spirit. They have a deep, unwavering knowing that true freedom lies within. Temples and sacred objects may get destroyed by violent fires. All that comes into form will eventually dissolve. However beautiful and sacred it is – all that lives will have to eventually die.
Within the pain of destruction, a flame grows in the heart that burns ever stronger in the knowing that all on earth is impermanent. In the dawn of awakening, the inner eye may see that the formless essence alone ever remains unchanging – unborn, undying.
This painting is an ode to the beauty, depth and wisdom of the Tibetan people and an expression of gratitude for their inspiring faith. When life tries to cut ones wings, the roots of faith grow deep into the skies beyond earth.
