I recently had the great privilege of visiting Monte Sahaja, the ashram of my spiritual master Mooji. The place radiates such love and truth that it felt like a deep coming home — home to myself.
After my last long stay in 2017, I felt inspired to create a painting in honour of Mooji, the saints and sages, and the beautiful sangha that so fully reflects his light, love, and wisdom. I’m happy that the painting has now found its way to the place where it belongs.
‘Ocean of Grace’
120x80cm
2017-18
Depicted above Mooji are his masters Papaji and Ramana Maharshi, depicted alongside some of the saints, sages, and divine emanations of truth who have inspired Moojibaba (from left to right): Krishna, Anandamayi Ma, Sai Baba of Shirdi, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Osho, Shiva, Amma, Yogi Ramsuratkumar, Ma Devaki, Ramakrishna, and Buddha.
Originally, Jesus Christ was depicted prominently at the top centre, as he has always been very dear to Moojibaba. Yet, it no longer felt right to portray him above or greater than the other masters. I came to see that no emanation of the Divine is higher than another — it all shines as one unity. Thus, beloved Christ remains in the painting, but he has dissolved into the formless source — the pure light.
May this light of truth dissolve all sense of separation and set us truly free.
Hallelujah to the Truth — glory to God.
